Jason Skelton was killed in a head on collision on the way to Four-Corners this morning.
He was my friend.
I'll try to post funeral information and such when I can.

Donations for Tanya and the girls can be made at any Washington Mutual, simply ask for the account for "the wife and children of Jason Skelton"

Mike

I too was a good friend of Jason Skelton.

This is a very tragic thing for his family and all of those who knew him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Tanya, his daughters, and the rest of his family

What to say. He will be big time missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tanya and the girls. The memories of time spent with Jason always bring smiles.

Jason had a smile and a laugh that were infectious. He could ride a quad like nobody else. We watched him ride up a tree one day because he couldn't ride around it. We had some great trips with Jason and Tanya. We'll never forget the ride on Mt. Adams. And the fun Poker Run in Meacham. He always had a smile and a story for our family.

Jason, we will miss you.

I'm lost for words also!
I have always thought of Jason Skelton as a great guy, he and his family have always been there for JCTRA. Jason and his family are what the club is about; he loved any time he could get out and get dirty / camp / play with equipment. Jason's passing will be a big loss to this club and he will be a greatly missed friend.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Tanya, his daughters, and the rest of his family.

Troy

Thank you everybody. I really do appreciate all of you as friends. As I know more on the details of the funeral, I will let you know. I want you all there to be with us and Jason. Everytime you ride or have a work party keep him in your thoughts and ride for him. He was one hell of a rider! Twisted Evil

Born January 17, 1978 Died August 2, 2008.
Age 30 yrs old. Father, Husband and Friend

Jason was early heading up the hill, eager to go ride. All of us that were meeting Jason up there were stopped by the Police at the accident but had no idea that our friend was the victim. We all ended up making it to 4 Corners one way or the other but Jason never did make it. We all figured he was stopped by the Police at the accident and headed back home to his family, we never once thought it was Jason in the accident. Our monthly work party was scheduled for today and we were going to be clearing trails for the upcoming Rock N Roll Poker Run, Jason volunteered to be in charge of the course. Yesterday was a day to get a little riding in while doing a survey as there are still trees down for the winter storms.

Jason was the Vise President of the Jones Creek Trail Riders Association and spent countless hours working on the trails for everyone to enjoy. Jason is survived by his wife and two daughters. Jason was a kind hearted man always looking at the bright side of things with a smile and a laugh. I can't think of one person that will not miss Jason, he was a friend to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joe........

I too am at a loss for words. We all lost a great man, one who would bust his tail with only a smile. Always eager to ride, and boy could he!
We are deeply sorry for the loss of this great friend, husband and father, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Tanya and the girls. JCTRA lost one of it's truly greatest assets. I know his heart and spirit will live on through those who knew him.

I have so many stories about Jason, but I think that the best moment was when we were riding together once. There was some little part of the trail that i didn't want to go through and Jason, told me that he would be glad to go through it for me. As he rode down the trail and helped me out, i was so grateful. After he got through, he told me a secret. This, he told me, could help me through anything in life. And it has.

His secret was:

"When in doubt, gas it out."

And with this one sentence, which i use everyday for almost everything, I remember him and his great life.

He will be missed, but instead of normaly thinking about him, I want everyone to use his secret sometime. It would be great to know that he would be thought about everyday.

I'm at a loss for word's now. Jason was by far the fastest trail riding 4x4 quad rider I've ever met. 4 wheel's never slowed him down. He will be missed by all. I was looking forward to fishing with him at Tahuya.

James Jason Skelton was my best freind. He showed me alot of things, was a leader some one too look up to.He was the reason i baught my quad. One of my favorite times was last year with him when he took me up hunting for the first time he was so excited to see me get my first deer even though he did not get his deer.Thats just the type of guy he was i am happy to see he will not be forgoten .

You use Windows Media Player. You may not have it installed on you PC, try installing it from the Miscrosoft web site. I can look at converting it to another format like AVI.

Just got the news. What a shock and a great loss to all of us. Jess and I were just getting to know him the last month or two and we'll both miss him deeply. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tanya and the girls. If there is anything we can do for you let us know.
